- In 2008 Lotus released a very select group of cars, 25 in total and they are as exclusive of a Lotus that you can ever find. In fact, you rarely
see these cars pop-up and when we searched we could only find one recent car and it’s off the radar and out of sight. From online sources it would
appear that only 20 of them made it stateside. Lotus made these extremely rare cars to commemorate the racing heritage of the 1960’s. It appears
that all 25 of the cars were equipped and optioned identically. More or less, this car was designed to be a track car that is street legal and able to be
driven to and from the track. Although in many cases, some of these cars were bought out of lust for the incredible looks and huge amount of
options that come on a Club Racer. As most of us car guys realize, if you are going to buy an exotic, it should look exotic! And this car fits the bill
incredibly well…
All of the 2008 Lotus Exige S Club Racers came from the factory in a special Club Racer Sky Blue Paint with a Phantom Black Tri-Stripe
Design down the middle. Black painted wheels round out a tremendous looking package on the Club Racer and make it unmistakable from the rest
of the pack. If you just want an ubber cool exotic looking car then this is your ticket. If you frequent the track you will be instantly recognized by
your peers as being a rare standout owner of one of the hottest Lotus cars ever to hit the street / track. The exterior condition of this rare Club
Racer beast looks down right extraordinary in every way. The condition of the paint is 100% reminiscent of what a 8k mile car should represent.
Club Racer cars were equipped with the high end version of the clear bra called “Starshield” and it has done a very good job of keeping chips off of
the paint surface. The paint has been exceptionally well maintained, it maintains a brilliant shine and looks the part of a serious race machine. The
only flaws we could find on the outside are a few normal very small chips on the clear bra (it does its job well) and some scuffs/scratches on the lower
underneath side of the front spoiler (the car sits low, this is very normal). This car does NOT have typical wear that is displayed from cars on that have
been on the track. We spoke with the previous owner and he stated that he didn’t have the car on the track and that it was purely a street car of
pleasure. It’d be hard to argue that, even the bottom of the car is flawless with no rubber thrown around from track days, I’ve seen track cars and
it’s nearly impossible to remove all of the track debris. With that in mind, this car 100% appears to be a gently driven street machine with no
issues…
The cockpit of the Club Racer Exige S cars are all color optioned out the same as well with a “Unique Interior Trim Package” of Black
Leather, Carbon Effect Leather and lush Suede throughout further making the car a crowd standout. When you buy the Club Racer the last thing
you are buying is a base car, these bad boys have it all. As you would expect, this is a non-smoker car with a fantastic amount of care applied to it.
Just as you will see on the outside, this car has been very well taken care of and would appear that frequent trips to the detail shop were a normal
occurrence. Once you strap yourself inside, push the starter button and bask in the sound of the supercharged motor as it comes to life. The only
thing out of the ordinary would be the addition of the upgrade to the audio system by way of the bass tube which adds a subwoofer to enhance the
lack of sound in the Lotus cars. To be honest, you may not even notice it, it’s gently tucked away behind the seats in a place that is seemingly
made for it.
If you are looking for an unmistakable exotic car to add to your collection with world class track potential then look no further! Push this car and it responds like nothing you will ever drive. For the price point there simply isn’t anything remotely close to what you can achieve in this car. The Club Racer is a distinctive version of the Lotus Exige S that is in an entirely different league than its little brothers.
With 0-60mph times hovering at only 4 seconds, straight line speed won’t be an issue. On the track the performance is mind boggling AND you can
cruise home at close to 30 mpg, provided you keep your foot out of it…yeah right! If you are looking for a fun, light, responsive sports car, the Lotus
Club Racer Exige S is pretty much in a class by itself. Look extremely hard for another one and realize that there isn’t anything to compare this car to. With that
in mind, someone else will also sense the exclusivity that this car brings and will make it a reality by purchasing it. We don’t say this often, but I
wouldn’t snooze on this car if you are serious about owning such a rare car. Please feel free to bid with the utmost confidence and by all means call

The successful high bidder will submit a $1,000 non-refundable deposit within 2 business days of the close of the auction to secure the vehicle.
Buyer agrees to pay remaining balance due (plus applicable fees and taxes) within 3 days of the close of the auction. All financial transactions must be completed before delivery of the vehicle.
